ART TEACHER- Permanent Substitute

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the principal and the fine arts program coordinator, the art teacher will teach high school classes as scheduled, will co-ordinate art with other curricula, and will be involved with all schedule exhibits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Massachusetts certification in Art 9-12.

2. Previous secondary teaching experience preferred

3. Demonstrated ability to teach Basic Art Courses (Both 2D and 3D) as well as experience in teaching photography.

4. Demonstrated ability to utilize Socratic approach and to incorporate thinking skills in instruction.

5. Experience in subject area curriculum and assessment development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teach a variety of Art Classes at the high school level including, foundation studio.

2. Work with Art department as a team to develop curriculum.

3. Willingness to share the responsibilities of the Art department.
