ENGINEERING TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Massachusetts certification in Technology/Engineering (5-12) or related disciplines of science or math. Experience preferably as a middle school teacher with willingness to become certified in technology/engineering.

2. Previous teaching experience preferred.

3. Familiarity with the middle school–level state standards in technology/engineering, and willingness to become familiar with the state standards in math and science.

4. Demonstrated ability to utilize computers and related educational software to support instruction (interest in CAD CAM).

5. Comfortable using hands-on tools with middle school students.

6. Creative in engaging students in core curriculum projects using tools, design skills, and group instruction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and develop student learning activities that address the middle school standards in tech/engineering.

2. Teach students to use critical thinking skills to create and solve problems that have practical application.

3. Review curriculum, inventory and submit supply order for program delivery.

4. Responsible for routine upkeep of technology/engineering lab.

5. All other required duties as requested per AEA contract.
