School Social Worker

JOB GOAL:

To provide mental health support and case management services to pupils, staff and parents involved with the School Social Work Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Master's degree in Social Work.

2. DESE/ School Adjustment Counselor Certification.

3. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker desirable.

4. Demonstrated competence in establishing strong interpersonal relationships with children and adults.

5. Vast knowledge of available human services in related areas.

6. Two years minimum experience working in a public school setting

DUTIES:

1. School based individual and group counseling.

2. IEP Team member for students with disabilities

3. Consultation to teaching staff, building, administration, parents and colleagues as needed.

4. Serves as a referral agent to obtain necessary aid from specialized public or private organizations.

5. Provides pupil data and written reports as required.

6. Attends school and district staff meetings as scheduled.

7. Works to create a school climate of caring and mutual respect for all individuals.

8. Performs other program-related duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services, Building Principal, Social Work Program Head.
