QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Certification as a BCBA

 

Master degree preferred

 

Solid knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.

 

Prior experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with serious behavioral problems and spectrum disorder required.    

 

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.

 

Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues

 

Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional

levels.

 

Experience consulting with teachers and staff to support students’ behavior in the classroom.

 

Experience within a public school setting strongly preferred.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides development and direct supervision of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming in the district. 

 

Services may include: functional behavioral assessment, behavior plan development, development of IEP goals & objectives, development of individualized skill building curricula, staff and parent training, and consultation to all team members.  The BCBA will provide these services in the school setting and also oversee/ provide supervision for behavior technicians providing home ABA services as indicated on IEPs. The BCBA may be required to work a flexible schedule (10am – 6pm) one or two days a week to allow for service delivery supervision of the behavior technicians in the home setting.

 

Provide direct instruction, training and support to students with autism and family members to insure the successful inclusion of K-12 students in a public school setting.

 

Effectively manage caseload and prepare all documentation in a timely fashion; participate in related IEP meetings.

 

Conduct functional behavior assessments and recommend positive behavior supports for students with Autism Spectrum and other related disorders.

 

Provide support for staff in the use of ABA strategies.
