QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Massachusetts certification for elementary Physical Education.

2. Earned bachelor's and/or master's degree in physical education preferred.

3. Evidence of undergraduate/ graduate courses in motor development and motor learning, physiology of exercise, kinesiology and anatomy & physiology.

4. Demonstrated understanding of human growth and development.

5. Evidence of courses in motor skills development.
 
6. Evidence of courses in first aid and C.P.R.

7. Evidence of courses in a variety of skill activities.

8. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies and techniques.

9. Evidence of experience teaching elementary age students.

10. Demonstrated understanding of appropriate class management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare unit plans and lesson plans to implement the approved curriculum for elementary Physical Education.

2. Work cooperatively with other Physical Education teachers to implement the program.

3. Work cooperatively with other staff members at the school.

4. Communicate as needed with school guidance counselors, parents and administrators.

5. Assess and report student performance to parents.
